Today we worked on getting more insulation up & plywood over it. We finished the back wall and the left side. It is quite a bit warmer inside already, but we still have the front wall left to complete.
The old wooden hay shelf was removed from the buck barn and discarded (only the screws are being saved... post bleaching). We installed the new to us, wall mounting, metal hay rack that was given to us by a fellow goat herdswoman & friend. It is just high enough on the wall that the boys have to get up on their hind legs, and exercise their back ends, in order to eat. We will be building a new hay bin for the doe barn that will hold one complete bale of hay. It too will be located at a height that will force them to exercise their back ends.
