Yesterday one of NH's farms suffered a terrible loss. The 3-alarm fire claimed Hopewell Farms' barn, feed & hay, and an unfair amount of their animals(laying hens, piglets, and fish). Thankfully though, most of their animals were out on pasture and were unharmed.
The family is okay, at least physically. Their son and one of the farm employees were the only ones there when the fire broke out. It's no wonder the kid is in a bit of shock, as that is a lot trauma for anyone, let alone a 14 yr old boy.
As stated above, the farm lost all their feed in the fire. If any of you that read this can spare a bag or two of grain, or even 5 bales of hay, it will help, and they will greatly appreciate it.
The family also needs to rebuild their barn, so they can have housing for their animals. If any of you want to help with any of this, be it donating animal feed or hay(Contact Jessica with Healthy Herds: 603-848-9015), or building materials, equipment(as they lost theirs in the fire), and/or your time & energy to help rebuild, please either comment on this post or use the Contact Us page on our website, and we will pass along your info.
Thank you.
