About three weeks ago, we started off our hatching season by setting some eggs in the incubator. Eighteen eggs made it to lockdown. On the 11th, the first 7 hatched out, on the 12th 7 more hatched out, and in the VERY early hours of the morning 1 more found it's way out of its shell. Giving us a nice hatch rate of 83%.
So, we started off the 2012 hatching season nicely, and now we are passing the incubator to our friends. It makes a nice home schooling project! Some of the families will be keeping the chicks they hatch out, while others will just be doing it for the schooling project and then give the chicks "back" to us.
